Name: Dan Pearce

Job Title: Architectural Recruitment Consultant

Where are you from? The sunniest town in England – Bognor Regis!

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I think I changed my mind every week, from the circus to a Taxi driver, to an Architect because of my love of art and design technology in school.

What training or qualifications do you have? I finished my A-levels in the summer of 2020 after a very stressful  exam period through Covid, I walked away with qualifications in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology.

Where did you work before Hunter Dunning? Before Hunter Dunning I worked in various retail jobs, including John Lewis, where I was a selling partner in the Tech department.

Why did you choose to work for Hunter Dunning? Recruitment has always appealed to me due to the personability of the role. I knew when I joined Hunter Dunning that it was a place for me to work within an Industry I am personally interested in. Along with the supportive team and positive office environment, I couldn’t ask for much more!

What is the best thing about working at Hunter Dunning? The relationships you build with candidates and clients, from initial conversation, all the way through to the placement. Job markets aren’t easy at the best of times, so it feels so rewarding to be able to bring my candidates and clients the best offers and talent.

How do you feel Hunter Dunning differs from other recruitment agencies? We are personable and transparent, we want to get to know what makes you tick, the dream position and ultimately your career aspirations. This way we are able to match your personality and motivations the right place!

What do you find most interesting working in the architecture sector? I think the most interesting thing is working with candidates in which you have seen their work in real life. It’s so interesting seeing candidates and clients  ideas come to fruition.

How is the Architecture industry changing? There is a big focus on sustainability, whether that’s designing new buildings where sustainability is at the centre of the design, or re-purposing older building to become more efficient and sustainable for future generations.

What are your hobbies? Outside of work I love going to the gym and will try to go 5 times a week. I also enjoy art and will paint every now and then when I get the chance.

What word or phrase do you say the most? “Amazing!” I’m so sorry for everyone I talk to on the phone, because I also cringe at myself at how much I now say this.

If you were an animal or a cartoon character what would you be and why? Seagull, Unfortunately I got stuck with this name years ago by my friends and its stuck every since.

If you could rename Molly, what would you call her? Molly is the office snorer, we couldn’t change her name.
