Trying to keep up to date with the latest construction news? The construction industry is certainly booming right now to say the least and it’s recently been announced that Kier have won a £106m mansion block project in Westminster.

Property developer Concord London has now signed Kier to deliver its £106m Marylebone Square mixed-use scheme in Central London, designed by Simon Bowden Architects and we have a feeling it’s going to be amazing. Simon Bowden Architects originally designed the complex with M&E Consultant Hurley Palmer Flatt, Cost Consultant Gardiner and Theobald, and Structural Engineer Alan Baxter.

The site Marylebone Square (formerly known as Moxon Street Car Park) is the last city block in the W1 postcode of London to be developed. It has been said that Kier will be building a nine-storey building, which will include a three-storey basement and five residential floors above the ground floor. The project is set to complete in the summer of 2023 and nearly a third of the apartments have already sold, so you best get in there quick if you plan to buy one!

This incredible new development will comprise of 54 private luxury apartments, as well as 25 affordable apartments in the style of a mansion. It has been announced that this project will be a whopping 25,160m².

The external envelope consists of a bespoke ceramic cladding with a range of glazes across the elevations, with cast aluminium balustrading and feature frieze detailing.

Not only will this project include luxury residential, it will also include shops, restaurants and community facilities including a community hall to house an existing popular farmers market on the ground and lower ground floors.

As shown in the picture above, the upper floor flats will be arranged around a light and airy central glass-canopied courtyard.

Group Managing Director at Kier Construction, Liam Cummins said: “This is an exciting project for us to be appointed to deliver and it draws on both our technical excellence and experience of delivering large-scale, mixed-use schemes in London.

“This appointment is a testament to our collaborative relationship with Concord London and its consultant partners. We look forward to successfully delivering this project and creating a lasting legacy in Marylebone as part of our growing portfolio of projects in London.”
