Bring Spring into your Interiors

Spring Interior Design

Bring a bit of Spring’s “new life” into your interior design this season. We explore the various objects and materials you can inject into a room.

“Spring is a particularly fun season in the world of interior design because it typically lends itself to bolder colors, more vibrant patterns, and generally more playful looks than its seasonal counterparts.”(1)

Spring is all about new beginnings, flowers and bright colours. If you want to add a bit of seasonal cheer into your space think tulips, daffodils, yellows, pinks and greens. See our top five tips to bring Spring into the room.

1. Floral wallpaper

Whether you want a statement wall or the whole room to match, bold, bright floral wallpaper is the go-to this season. “We’re seeing a shift from non-offensive neutrals to homes with real attitude,” says Paula Taylor, colour expert at Graham & Brown – meaning we now embrace bold florals, extravagant colour, even metallic and 3D effects.” (2)

2. Floral ornaments

According to The Spruce, “Green leafy botanicals, hot pink florals, and pretty much any other tropical print you can think of are making their way onto walls, throws and artwork this season” (1). If you want a touch of floral, but not as bold as a whole wall, why not add a floral ornament to a shelf or table? Or a picture on the wall instead.

3. Mustard colour scheme

On trend this Spring is a mustard colour scheme – whether it be the walls or furniture this bright shade is a mood lifter.

John Lewis & Partners Colour, Material and Finish designer, Melanie Archer said: “Mustard hues have been the go-to shade over the warmer months in our homes. No longer content with smaller pops of mustard, we are seeing a move towards larger investment pieces of furniture which add a bold, refreshing burst of colour to our living spaces.”

4. Colourful furnishings

Vibrant coloured cushions

Spring is all about colour – the more vibrant the better! “Vibrant colors never fail to bring a bright touch, perfect for spring, to any interior! The color of choice will also add personality to the room. Think corals, oranges, reds, and yellows for the ultimate bold and vibrant color scheme!”(3)

5. Fresh flowers

Bring the outside in and have some lovely tulips and/or daffodils into your interiors. Or if you’re environmentally conscious, house plants will have more longevity and brighten the room for longer.

LUXXU said: “Whether you’re bringing fresh flowers in or adding flower inspired elements to the design scheme doesn’t matter, flowers are back for Spring 2019 and there are a thousand ways to use this trend when designing an interior.”(3)
