With the RIBA Salary Guide 2025 recently published, conversations around pay, benefits and job satisfaction in the architectural sector are once again front and centre. While the RIBA report offers a useful top-line summary, we wanted to provide something a little more grounded.
At Hunter Dunning, we’ve released our own Architectural Salary Guide for 2025, created by our consultants and based entirely on real-time market insight, not just survey data. This guide draws directly from the day-to-day conversations, placements and hiring trends we’ve seen over the last 12 months across the UK.
We speak to hundreds of architecture professionals and hiring managers every week. Our guide reflects that lived market experience, not just what’s written down in a contract. While salaries remain a key focus, we’re also seeing increased value placed on flexibility, hybrid working and career development.
The guide offers benchmark salary ranges across multiple levels and specialisms, including:
Each role includes a Low, Medium, and High salary band, giving you a realistic view of what’s currently being offered across the UK.
The RIBA salary data is a great starting point, but it doesn’t always reflect current hiring behaviours, or regional fluctuations. Our guide is built on:
It’s updated for 2025 with live data and that makes a real difference when you’re reviewing packages, or considering your next move.
As always, salaries are influenced by factors like location, practice size and sector. London and the South East continue to sit at the top end of the scale, but we’re seeing stronger offers emerging across the Midlands, North and Scotland too, especially for senior roles, or specialist skills.
The guide also acknowledges that salaries aren’t the whole story. Benefits like flexible working, health cover, professional development and bonus structures are now a significant part of candidate decision-making.
Whether you’re hiring, job searching, or just curious to see how you compare – the guide is free to download.
If you’d like to discuss the data or get a more tailored view based on your region or specialism, feel free to get in touch with one of our consultants. We’re happy to chat.
