Technical Architect Job in Southwark, London

A Technical Architect job is available in Southwark, London and is being offered on a 9-month fixed-term basis. You will be the architectural practice on a number of higher education projects in London.

Established over 40 years ago, the practice consists of passionate and dedicated architects, designers, and technology professionals, who are committed to delivering elegant and considered designs. From innovative rail and transport work across the UK to state-of-the-art higher-education facilities, they apply rigour and attention to detail, to the design and management of all their projects. Their innovative and collaborative approach is also supported by their cutting-edge application of new technologies in BIM.

Architectural Technicians or Architectural Technologists will also be considered for this role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Produce and manage technical design packages across a series of projects from RIBA stages 3 – 6
  • You will be working on higher education projects throughout the UK
  • Candidates will be required to prepare project programmes, write specifications, and prepare construction details.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year UK professional working experience
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of technical detailing skills along with an understanding of modern methods of construction
  • Experience working on education, commercial, or transport projects is desirable (no residential)
  • Strong experience using Vectorworks is essential
  • Good working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and MS Office
  • Thorough working knowledge of UK building regulations
  • Ability to work within a small team, where good communication and coordination is key
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • A thorough understanding of issues that occur on large-scale projects
  • Have a flexible and committed attitude to work
  • The ability to be able to work using your own initiative.
