Technical Architect - Mill Hill, London

An exciting multi-award winning interior design practice based in North London, is seeking a highly talented and creative Technical Architect to join their expanding team and become an active part of a dynamic and passionate group of designers.

The practice is an established, high end architecture and luxury design company based in North London. Their working style is informal, professional and highly organised, with a rapidly expanding client base and an increasing project workload. They currently have live projects ongoing within the high-end residential sector, and also working on an exciting project at London’s best known high-end retailers.

Role & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work through all RIBA stages of a project, with particular responsibility for construction / technical stages. You will be working alongside a small team of interior designers and the Directors, reporting directly to the Design Director whilst taking responsibility for your own work.

You will be expected to carry out the complete range of architectural duties on individual projects including;

• Carry out measure site surveys
• Participate in co-ordinating a team of consultants
• Detail design and production information for Tender pack
• Third party approvals – submit and oversee planning applications
• Ensure compliance with building regulations
• Compile tender pack
• Producing schedule of works
• Tender management
• Access client requirements and carry out feasibility studies
• Work closely with the team of interior designers and Architect

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience working as a Technical Architect
• A strong interest in architecture, mathematics, drawing and design, with an excellent eye for detail
• Strong communications and leadership skills
• Fluent in AutoCAD (Version 2013 onwards)
• A good understanding of M&E
• Experience of production of drawing standards and templates
• Experience of Preliminary designs
• Have experience in spatial and furniture planning
• Detail design and production information for Tender Pack
• An analytical mind with strong problem-solving ability
• Strong leadership and organisation skills
• The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Previous experience working for an Interior Design practice is advantageous
• A clear understanding of health and safety issues, and Building Regulations
• The ability to work well under time and budget pressures
• Ideally will live within a 30-60 minute commute

Salary & Package:

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary between £28,000 – £30,000 subject to experience.
