Senior Urban Designer Job in Central London

Our client has a Senior Urban Designer job available, in Central London. If you are an Urban Designer with over 10 years of experience, and looking to work on quality projects in a practice with an established reputation in the architectural industry, then this could be the role for you.

The practice’s portfolio of projects ranges from beautiful historical buildings and private homes to commercial properties, masterplans, and major housing developments. This has ultimately resulted in them being recognised worldwide for their award-winning projects. Due to new projects and team expansion, they now require a Senior Urban Designer on a full-time, permanent basis.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Take the lead role in the managing of projects at the practices London office
  • Develop vision statements and masterplans of varying sizes, taking a project from the initial concept through the outline and reserved matters planning application stages
  • You will gain experience working with existing building types as well as developing bespoke homes and mixed-use buildings in plan and elevation to facilitate these projects
  • The production of design codes to protect masterplans over their development life cycle
  • Speaking directly with clients as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 10 years professional experience
  • Educated in Architecture or Urban Design and must have current UK experience
  • Ability to produce designs by hand or computer
  • Working proficiency in using ArchiCAD is beneficial, but training will be provided
  • Experience working on all residential project types, particularly large-scale developments would be preferable
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and British Standards.
