Job Summary

Senior/Principal Planner Job Devon offers an opportunity to join an established and rapidly growing planning consultancy. The position is based from the Devon office and operates on a hybrid working basis. You will work within the Land, Planning & Development sector across varied planning commissions. Projects cover residential, heritage and conservation, and environmental work across the South.

The role suits a Chartered Town Planner with private sector and local authority experience. You will provide clear planning advice while supporting clients throughout each stage of their projects. The successful candidate will prepare fee proposals and contribute to small and medium assignments.

You will also assist senior staff and Partners with larger and more complex projects. Senior Planner Job Devon provides exposure to new and existing clients across multiple sectors. The consultancy offers future development opportunities as the planning team continues its current growth.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare written fee proposals for clients using established practice templates and relevant guidelines
  • Provide clear written and verbal planning advice with practical recommendations for each client
  • Work collaboratively with planning consultants while delivering small and medium project requirements
  • Support business development activity and maintain effective professional relationships with existing clients
  • Communicate regularly and clearly with clients and colleagues throughout every project stage
  • Assist senior staff and Partners with the delivery of larger planning projects
  • Contribute planning knowledge across residential, heritage and conservation, and environmental project work

Skills & Experience Required

  • Chartered Planner status and current membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute
  • A varied and solid range of professional planning experience across relevant project types
  • Private sector and local authority planning experience is considered highly desirable for this position
  • Strong understanding of the full range of planning work and associated requirements
  • Ability to provide clear written advice and confident verbal recommendations to clients
  • Experience working collaboratively with consultants, senior staff and Partners on planning projects
  • A full UK driving licence suitable for travel connected with project responsibilities

Salary & Benefits

  • £40,000 – £55,000 DOE
