Senior Hospitality Interior Designer - New York City, USA

Unique opportunity to develop the US office of successful London based interior design studio. Benefits include a salary of $100,000 – $120,000 and the opportunity to lead outstanding hospitality/F&B projects.

A leading London based Interior Design studio with over 12 years’ experience specialising in one-of-a-kind interiors for high-end restaurants, bars and hotels in the UK and overseas. Their passion for arts and bespoke pieces, partnered with the ability to understand their clients’ vision has earned them their reputation and an ever-increasing pipeline of enviable clients and projects.

Currently working on two different NYC based projects, they are looking for a US-based, Senior Hospitality Interior Designer to join them on a one-year contract. The successful candidate will effectively combine the creative and operational aspects of design projects and will take an active role in all stages of design projects.

Role & Responsibilities

? Planning, executing and overseeing projects from concept to completion
? Assisting project team with development of design concepts/schemes
? Creating, tracking and processing accurate and up to date budget proposals, recommending changes where necessary
? Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations
? Determining the frequency/content of status reports from the project team, analyzing results and troubleshooting problem areas
? Proactively managing changes in projects, identifying potential problems/crises and devising contingency plans
? Building, developing and maintaining business relationships
? Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with UK and US teams
? Developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
? Researching and coordinating all project specifications: project design, furniture plans, fabrics, finishes, architectural details, and construction documents
? Controlling company costs
? Coordinating Architect’s and M&E proposals and designs
? Creating/coordinating client proposals and maintain realistic project timelines
? Coordinating and attending site meetings with clients/design team/ subcontractors and producing minutes
? Maintaining clear and effective communication on all project details
? Creating and delivering concepts, materials, presentations and drawings as needed: joinery/millwork, plans, sections, elevations and details
? Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and clients
? Delegating tasks and responsibilities appropriately
? Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path
? Maintain excellent client and supplier relationships
? Liaising effectively with clients and other team members
? Managing client sign-off of all design drawings and documents

Required Skills & Experience

? 10+ years’ professional experience as interior designer
? Proven experience managing hospitality/F&B projects in the USA
? Experience working on projects from concept stages through to installation and snagging
? Extensive industry knowledge and understanding of the hospitality interior design codes and regulations in the US
? Comfortable producing and giving presentations
? Understanding of furniture design and materials, historical and contemporary design
? Good team leadership skills and experience
? Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Packages, Microsoft Office and 3D modeling software (Revit/ 3D Studio Max/SketchUp)
? Knowledge of StudioDesigner a plus

Salary & Package

$100,000 – $120,000 fully dependent on experience
