Role & Responsibilities

• Provide expert heritage advice across projects, supporting planning strategies and development proposals in East Anglia.
• Prepare conservation management plans, heritage impact assessments and significance and capacity analyses.
• Undertake desk-based research, archival investigations and on-site built fabric analysis to inform project decisions.
• Produce detailed, accurate and well-written heritage reports for clients and statutory stakeholders.
• Act as heritage lead on projects, coordinating with architects, consultants and planning authorities.
• Prepare fee proposals and contribute to business development activities within the consultancy.
• Mentor junior team members, reviewing work outputs and supporting professional development.
• Manage project workloads, ensuring delivery aligns with programme, quality and client expectations.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum seven years professional experience within building conservation, heritage planning or related disciplines.
• Strong expertise in archival research, on-site analysis and producing high-quality written heritage reports.
• Experience leading projects and managing workloads within a consultancy or multidisciplinary environment.
• Knowledge of RIBA stages, particularly stages 0 to 3, supporting early project strategy and planning.
• Membership of IHBC, CIfA or equivalent professional institution demonstrating professional competence.
• Understanding of the South East heritage market and planning context across relevant project sectors.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and contributing to team development and performance.
• Full UK driving licence supporting site visits and project engagement across the region.
