Role & Responsibilities

• Lead fire engineering projects from initial design stages through technical development and completion
• Prepare detailed fire strategies, technical reports, engineering calculations and supporting design documentation
• Carry out fire dynamics assessments and structural fire analysis across multiple building sectors
• Undertake smoke modelling, evacuation modelling and fire simulations to support engineering design decisions
• Complete hand calculations, zone modelling and CFD modelling analysis for complex project requirements
• Review building designs and develop practical fire engineered solutions meeting fire safety requirements
• Attend meetings with clients, architects and statutory authorities while providing clear technical guidance
• Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to wider fire engineering team development

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline relevant to consultancy work
• Senior level experience working within a fire engineering consultancy on technically demanding projects
• CEng status or active progress toward chartership through structured professional development activities
• Strong UK project experience across multiple building sectors and different development stages
• Experience delivering both new build and existing building projects within fire engineering consultancy environments
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills when assessing complex fire engineering design challenges
• Confident client facing communication skills when working with architects, developers and statutory authorities
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining effective technical and project leadership

Salary & Benefits

• £55,000 – £70,000 depending on experience
