Senior Designer - Islington, London

Are you looking for a new challenging Interior Design position? A growing interior design, show home & furniture rental company is looking for an experienced ‘Senior’ Interior Designer to join their London based team and develop the company’s new interior design department.

Established in 2004, this Interior Styling company provides award winning furnishing solutions for the property market and has built a reputation for achieving exceptional results. Specialising in the London and Home County areas, they are well-known for their contemporary designs and beautiful portfolio of completed projects.

For the last 13 years, their bespoke services have included show home design, furniture package services and furniture rental. Now, due to an increasing pipeline of work and a high-demand for interior design services, the company is looking for a Senior Designer to join them and help them develop the Interior Design department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking individual to make their ‘design stamp’ on the department, and to assist in building a design arm to the company, that will compete against the best design houses in London/the industry.

Role & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the growth and drive of the company’s new interior design ‘specialist’ department and will assist building and leading a brand new team in the London/Home Counties high-end interiors sector.

Main tasks will include (but are not limited to):

• Acting as a mentor to the design team, leading by example
• Conducting internal weekly/monthly design meetings with your team when required
• Reporting directly to the principles of the company
• Liaising with clients and suppliers and maintaining relationships
• Producing design concepts, proposals, mood boards and estimates
• Designing and managing projects through to fruition
• Attending site visits and leading installation teams on site
• Sourcing and ordering products
• Sourcing new suppliers
• Styling and dressing projects to a show home standard
• Sorting and picking accessories in the warehouse
  . Project administration

As the company expands, you may be asked to perform different tasks for the directors as required by your changing role within the company.

Required Skills and Experience

• 4+ years’ interior design & styling experience
• Knowledge of interior architecture, technical drawings and specifications
• Proven track record managing projects across all stages
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Design presentation experience to HNWI clients and developers
• Supplier relationships within the high-end sector
• Good administration and organisational abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or VectorWorks, Excel, InDesign and Photoshop
• EstiMac / EstiPC experience desirable

Salary & Package

• £33,000 – £37,000 dependent on experience
• Discretionary bonus in line with personal/KPI and company performance
• 20 day’s holiday, increasing 1 day per year served to a maximum of 25 days per annum
