Job Summary
Senior Design Architect Architecture job in Chelsea, London for an award-winning architectural consultancy specialising in luxury residential, commercial, and conservation projects. This position is based within a design-led studio environment focused on delivering bespoke architectural solutions across prestigious London and international developments.
The successful Senior Design Architect will lead projects from concept through planning stages while balancing heritage constraints with contemporary architectural design approaches. Working closely with Directors and technical delivery teams, the role offers significant autonomy across high-value projects while supporting long-term career progression into a strategic leadership position.

The practice is an established architectural consultancy with more than four decades of experience delivering high-quality luxury residential, commercial, and conservation projects. Based in Chelsea Harbour, the studio has developed a strong reputation for bespoke architectural design within prime London locations including Kensington and Chelsea.
Their portfolio includes prestigious private residences, hospitality schemes, and heritage projects requiring a sensitive balance between conservation principles and contemporary architectural design. The studio promotes a collaborative and design-focused culture where creativity and technical expertise are highly valued.
Due to continued project growth and expanding opportunities, they are now seeking a Senior Design Architect to support concept development and planning delivery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Leading project design development from RIBA stages 0 through to stage 3 delivery
- Formulating project briefs and developing concept proposals across luxury architectural commissions
- Collaborating closely with delivery teams to progress proposals into subsequent project phases
- Producing concept sketches using both traditional hand drawing and computer-based design techniques
- Liaising with Directors and technical delivery teams to ensure coordinated project progression
- Supervising planning drawing production and supporting coordination across wider architectural teams
- Preparing design and access statements alongside planning and listed building consent applications
- Attending pre-submission meetings and coordinating discharge of planning consent conditions throughout projects
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum five years post Part III experience within professional UK architectural practice environments
- Strong experience delivering high-end residential or commercial hospitality projects exceeding £5 million values
- Proven ability developing concept designs successfully through to RIBA stage 3 delivery phases
- Exceptional hand drawing and sketching abilities supporting concept development and client presentation requirements
- Strong leadership and management skills with confidence supervising small architectural project teams
- Excellent communication skills coordinating effectively with consultants, planning officers, and project stakeholders
- Fluent use of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office design software packages
- Exceptional three-dimensional spatial design and architectural concept visualisation skills are essential
Salary & Benefits
- Salary offered between £55,000 – £60,000 depending on experience and project background
