Senior Cost Manager Job in East London

Senior Cost Manager job now available, in East London / Hybrid working, for an international and leading multidisciplinary consultancy. Working on a large-scale education project in East London, offered as a FTC for 12 months or permanent contract. Salary £53,000 – £73,000 + Car Allowance £4.8k + Bonus + 28 Days Holiday + BH + Hybrid working.

They are a leading global cost consultant partner and completely employee-owned in the UK, offering cost management, project and programme management, specialist consultancy and digital services. Delivering cost-effective and sustainable projects for their international client base. To be considered you must have a background as a Cost Manager / Cost Consultant for a consultancy. The role will be focused on managing an M&E package, so you must have an understanding of M&E packages and chartered MRICS. There is potential for the role to be offered on a permanent basis if the candidate is based in North London, with easy access to both South East London and their office in Reading.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Play an integral part in managing the commercial and contractual performance of the project, with focus on M&E Package
  • Supply chain management and procurement strategy advice
  • Selection and appointment of contractors
  • Cost planning, to include cost budgets, appraisals, elemental cost plans, value engineering
  • Interim payments
  • Change Control in accordance with contracts
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Assist in the preparation of early warnings, instructions and compensation events
  • Promote formal dispute resolution and contract close-out strategy
  • Mentor more junior cost managers in the team.

Required Skills & Experience

  • MRICS
  • Quantity Surveying Degree or similar
  • Cost Management experience from a consultancy
  • Experienced in M&E Packages
  • Experienced working on largescale, public sector/framework projects.
