Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Architectural Technician/ Technologist for their offices in East Anglia.

The successful applicant will be qualified to HND level or equivalent with experience at a senior level.

You will have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience preferably within healthcare projects and residential projects.

KNOWLEDGE: –

  1. Have a thorough understanding of the Building Regulations.
  2. Understand the NBS specification system.
  3. Be able to use AutoCad and be willing to learn new programmes such as Revit and others
  4. Working knowledge and experience of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  5. Knowledge of health and housing sector design, including HBN’s, HTM’s etc.
  6. Ability to use NBS
  7. Familiar with BREEAM criteria, especially BREEAM Healthcare

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: –

  1. Assist Project Architect in developing scheme designs to detail design stage
  2. Work with the other technical staff on the team for production of Planning through to Building Regulations drawings AutoCAD; make applications, answer and resolve queries with building control departments or consultancies.
  3. Produce working drawing packages for tender and construction purposes.
  4. Liaise with other consultants, internal and external, to ensure fully integrated production documentation
  5. Liaise with sub-contractors, specialist suppliers and other contractors as appropriate, including checking of drawings.
  6. Carry out measured surveys of buildings.
  7. Assist Project Architect in project delivery during construction.
  8. Attend site meetings as appropriate.
  9. Assist in and contribute to the regular review of activities to maximise effectiveness and delivery of working drawing packages.
  10. Write technical specifications utilising NBS, minimal supervision
  11. Provide technical input for preparation of BREEAM assessments, SBEM calculations, EPC’s etc, and integrate requirements into the drawings package
  12. Where instructed, take responsibility for day to day job running of specific projects under the supervision of the team leader.
