Senior Architectural Technician - Surrey

My client is looking for a Senior Architectural Technician in Surrey to join a fast-paced and enthusiastic environment, specialising in largescale residential projects.

The practice, founded over 40 years ago and currently employing over 60 staff, is opening a new office in Surrey due to the organic growth of the company.

They have found great commercial success in largescale residential and retirement projects, and currently employ an award-winning team of architects, urban designers, technologists, graphic designers and sustainability consultants. Such awards include “Housing Design Award” and “Design Quality Award”.

Due to the growing nature of the UK Housing Industry and the practice’s ongoing success, there is a requirement for a Senior Architectural Technician to join the organisation. This position has a projected start date of February 2020, to coincide with the opening of the new office.

Role & Responsibilities

• Working on the production of layouts and planning drawings
• Production of technical detailing
• Working on large scale residential, mixed use and retirement living projects
• Able to confidently manage a project, especially from RIBA stage 4 – completion.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience
• Background in volume house-building or working with Developers would be ideal
• Experience working on UK based residential projects
• Good knowledge of UK planning and building regulations
• Strong technical ability
• Demonstrable portfolio of hand drawing/sketching is a definite requirement
• Skilled in the use of AutoCAD, and Revit experience would be beneficial

• Strong graphic design and 3D modelling skills, particularly in SketchUp and Photoshop
