Architectural Designer Job in Lower Manhattan, New York

Due to expansion our client is hiring for an Architectural Designer job for their New York City office, to work on high-end residential and hospitality projects in Miami, Los Angeles, and New York City! Competitive salary offered, plus 19 days holiday and bank holidays!

With a timeless design aesthetic that draws inspiration from experiences, art, and design, the studio’s projects can be found all around the world. Their bespoke approach results in unique and exquisite interiors for luxury residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. Currently working on a high-end hotel project in Miami, they are looking for an Architectural Designer to join their New York team on a permanent basis.

This high-end hospitality project based in Miami is in the early design phase and will be taken through all phases until completion on site. Our client estimates that this project alone will be complete within the next 2 and a half years. The practice is also involved in high-end residential and maritime, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in all types of projects throughout your career with them.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assisting the design team with initial concept presentations, including sourcing imagery and preparing schematic diagrams
  • Production of construction drawing packages
  • Site visits, including small scale surveys, production of field reports, and post-completion punch lists
  • Ability to work within part of a larger project team, including liaising with contractors, coordinating the design work with outside consultants, and communicating with suppliers on a regular basis
  • Ability to work under the direction of the New York office manager, as well as to communicate with the Studio’s team in London via long-distance correspondence.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A university-level architecture degree is required
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience working in a professional design office, with construction documents and construction
  • Must be based locally, in or around New York City
  • Confidence to work with contractors, consultants, and suppliers
  • Technically competent and efficient in delivering high-end projects to a specified budget and timescale
  • Knowledgeable of building codes and regulations
  • Must have previous experience working on high end hospitality projects in America
  • Strong skills using AutoCAD and SketchUp.
