Our client is a well established practice located in Chichester, West Sussex who undertake projects across the UK. They strive to deliver successful design solutions and buildings for clients by means of efficient and sound management. Projects areas include commercial, defence, education, health, industrial & residential. They offer full design and build project management as well as master planning and associated services.

Project values generally range from £5m – £10m with exceptions from £30m – £130m, so the opportunities to get involved in a wide variety of size and type of project is available.

The offices are based in historic buildings in Chichester city centre; about 5 minutes walk from the train station. With around 30 staff, our client continues to expand due to workload.

Our client is now looking to recruit a Part II Architectural Assistant to join their team in Chichester, West Sussex.

The successful candidate will be RIBA Part 2 qualified with UK private practice experience.

You must have good knowledge of the architectural industry. Basic technical knowledge with the ability to understand and interpret technical information is essential, along with good knowledge of current UK building regulations.

Good understanding of the complex processes of design and build with knowledge of tender and bid applications is desirable.

You must have good drawing, internal communication and time management skills. Project management and design/presentation skills would be beneficial, along with negotiation ability.

You must be a team player with ability to work under your own initiative. You must be forward thinking and enthusiastic for personal progression and growth as an individual and with the company. You must also be committed to CPD as our client is keen to encourage this.

You must be fully proficient on AutoCAD. Proficiency on ArchiCAD and Photoshop would be an advantage but are not essential.

As our client works in a wide variety of sectors there is fantastic opportunity to broaden your current experience. However, if you would prefer to work in only one sector i.e. residential then this is an option.

Salaries are negotiable up to £25,000 with benefits including:

  • 20 days holiday pa, plus bank holidays, rising after 2 years by 1 day per year to a maximum of 25 days.
  • BUPA health cover
  • Stakeholder pension contribution, up to 3% of salary if matched
  • Car parking permit
  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • Part III support, both financial and time

Our client also offers regular office social events including go-karting, visiting galleries, football every 3 weeks and ladies lunches every month. There are also regular get-togethers in local pubs after work.
