An exciting and challenging opportunity now exists for a Part II Architectural Assistant / Recently qualified Architect, within a small, specialist award winning architectural practice based in Islington. The firm specialise in urban regeneration, with a growing reputation for excellence in the field of historic building conservation; and as such have won numerous, recognised industry awards spanning across the last two decades.

The firm was recently selected from a respectable short list of practices for a prestigious performing arts scheme; a project which will incorporate 24 en-suite bedrooms, 10,000sq ft of business space as well as the reception, café and catering facilities. They also have a number of unique projects coming up that involve Grade II listed buildings as well as a new build possessing historical design sensibilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

The successful individual will be given the chance to have an active involvement in all project stages, shadowing the Director closely from the offset. You would be encouraged to have an active input through the life of this scheme, and as such will be working in an excellent learning environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must be Part II qualified or higher
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years working in a professional practice, ideally in the UK
  • Must have an interest and experience working on Historical and Conservation buildings
  • Vectorworks proficiency is preferable but training can be provided
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high-quality design ethos with natural design flare and a practical approach
  • Experience working through a variety of RIBA stages would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with a can-do approach

Salary & Package

In addition to a competitive salary ranging from £26,000 to £35,000 depending on experience, you will also benefit from a company pension scheme as well as support and assistance towards your RIBA Part III qualifications.
