A position offering huge potential for career progression within a progressive and forward thinking architectural firm. Based in the heart of Guildford and a two minute walk from the train station with direct links to London, this practice is surrounded by bars, shops and restaurants.

Established over 100 years ago my client operates across a diverse spectrum of design-led project sectors, including residential, retail, education, healthcare, leisure, workplace projects ranging from individual, bespoke homes and interiors, to multi-million-pound master planning schemes. The Guildford office specialises in retail, and has successfully completed retail projects across the nation for new stores, store rationalisations and office fit out projects with project sizes up to 50,000sqft.

Having recently taken on number of new projects and with a significant pipeline confirmed, they are now looking to recruit a talented Part I Architectural Assistant with retail experience. You should have at least 1 years’ UK experience and be able to demonstrable a background working on retail projects. You should be able to demonstrate good design skills, and a good understanding of technical design and construction.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will assist on a broad range of bids and projects developing feasibility studies, concept and detailed designs for major retails projects in the UK.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent design and communication skills plus have an interest in retail and residential projects. Finally, you should be efficient and have good knowledge of Revit.

Required Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
• Excellent design and innovation skills
• Good communication skills
• Prior industry experience would be beneficial

The role would suit a recent graduate who has achieve a minimum of a 2:1 at university who has the drive to establish themselves in this large and well-known practice.

Salary and Package

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of up to £20,000 in line with their experience and design ability. Moreover, they will receive a number of benefits including:

• 20 days holidays plus 3 additional days at Christmas
• Sick pay (after 3 months service)
