A Interior Designer job opportunity has arisen within a high-end residential practice based in London. The successful candidate will be joining a well-established and reputable business. The individual must be able to produce high quality work independently but also feel comfortable working amongst their small team of interior designers.

A high-end practice that work primarily within the high-end residential sector, their designs appeal to both young and old and sit well in both contemporary and traditional interiors. The interior design team operate across both commercial and residential projects, throughout the world, typically for private clients who require a high level of confidentiality and privacy. With a variety of new projects and clients they are working with, the practice is now looking to appoint an experienced Interior Designer who has proven experience working on high-end projects to join their team of 20 on a permanent or yearly contract basis.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing projects from initial concept stage to installation, liaising on a regular basis with clients directly
  • Producing technical drawings where required in AutoCAD
  • Preparing design presentations for client’s consideration including hand sketches, InDesign, physical boards and Photoshop rendered visuals
  • Supervision of sub-contractors, suppliers and others from commencement to completion of project including preparing schedules and instruction manuals
  • Attend site meetings, when required, on projects in the UK
  • Preparing all estimates using “EstiMAC” package
  • Ordering FF&E for projects, checking, preparing and packaging for forwarding to manufacturers
  • Making all arrangements in connection with an installation for FF&E and subcontractors, including storage, shipping, travel, accommodation and subsistence requirements
  • Working with the Accounts Administrator on preparation of all invoices relating to a project and managing project budget
  • General administration and paperwork for the decorating department. This will
    include regular updating of the library and tidying of the fabric sample area.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3-year experience in high-end residential design
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
  • Sound knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup and Microsoft Office
  • Good understanding of interior space planning and how to detail joinery
  • Ideal individual will be positive, intuitive and confident in their work. Able to produce high quality work independently but feel comfortable working within a small team
  • Must be organised, used to working to tight deadlines and respond well to feedback
  • Excellent communication skills.

What you get back

  • Salary between £28,000 – £32,000
  • 9.30am – 5.30pm working hours with some flexibility on day-to-day hours, by mutual agreement with head of department
  • One-hour lunch break each day
