Interior Designer job in New York City! Our client is seeking an experienced Project Interior Designer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. You will be joining a well-established commercial design firm, working as part of their aviation department – focused on taking the lead on a wide range of aviation projects and mentoring junior members of the team. Offering a salary of up to $110,000 + benefits!

This well-established architecture and design firm has been providing services to the commercial sectors for over 80 years. Projects range across workplace, healthcare, education, and aviation, to name a few. The team of 600+ are spread across 12 offices, within multiple states in the US, Asia and Europe. This role will be based from their New York office in Midtown Manhattan.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage all stages of the design process across the project life cycle
  • Concept design and creative proposal development; transforming briefing discussions to feasible visuals
  • Overseeing and inspection/completion of construction documentation
  • Liaise with contractors and clients; including delivering presentations/pitches and managing relationships
  • Contract administration
  • Creation and management of technical drawings/packages

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified from a CIDA accredited interior design course
  • 7+ years’ experience in commercial design, ideally within aviation or similar
  • Proficient Revit, Adobe Suite, and Ms Office user
  • Interest and understanding of sustainable design
  • Team leadership/mentoring experience
