Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on heritage assets to clients, stakeholders and internal project teams.
  • Undertake desk-based and archival research to inform heritage assessments and project strategies.
  • Carry out site investigations including building recording and photographic surveys of historic structures.
  • Prepare detailed heritage documentation including impact assessments, statements and conservation plans.
  • Manage smaller projects and contribute to larger bids and proposals within the consultancy.
  • Engage with planning authorities and stakeholders to support project approvals and compliance.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and effective project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to knowledge sharing across heritage projects.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum three years experience working as a heritage consultant within a commercial or consultancy environment.
  • Relevant qualification such as a Master’s degree in heritage, architecture or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of UK heritage planning legislation and listed building consent processes.
  • Proven ability to produce accurate, high-quality written documentation for planning and conservation purposes.
  • Experience managing workload effectively and meeting deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Strong research and analytical skills supporting informed heritage advice and project outcomes.
  • Membership of IHBC, CIfA or similar professional body would be desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence beneficial for site visits and project engagement.
