An international restaurant chain is looking for a top-notch Interior Designer with outstanding creative skills and all-round abilities to join their in-house design team as Head of Design. An international hospitality chain with established restaurants in France and Italy. Their two founders, an entrepreneur and an experienced hospitality manager, have grown the brand and made a name for themselves within the European industry.

Colourful, rich and daring would be a good way to describe their brand. Each and every one of their restaurants is characterised by their individuality and creative approach to both, food and design. Their average projects range between the values of £2 – £3.5 million and future locations include London, Madrid, Milan and Lisbon.

With very exciting projects in the pipeline and a new direction into hotel design, they are now looking for a Head of Design to join their Shoreditch office and lead the design team & creative direction of national and international schemes.

Role & Responsibilities

As the Head of Design, you will be fully involved in all project stages and will be responsible for encouraging the design team to use their creativity to develop outstanding interiors. Main tasks will include:

  • Overseeing and growing the existing design team
  • Developing unique design concepts and presenting pitches
  • Managing national and international projects from start through to installation
  • Developing / reviewing FF&E proposals
  • Overseeing projects across all stages
  • Liaising with national and international architects, suppliers and third parties
  • Travelling to sites across Europe
  • Reporting directly to the Operations Director

Required Skills & Experience

You will be joining an experimental brand that takes pride on trying new things and challenging themselves. Therefore, you should be a risk taker with an entrepreneurial nature, who is all about bringing new ideas to the table and making the brand stand out from the crowd.

Also needed:

  • 6+ years’ experience working on luxury hospitality or F&B projects
  • A passion for all-things F&B
  • Experience developing complex, large and small-scale projects
  • Flair for design, the ability to think out-of-the-box and a portfolio to support this
  • Proven track record working as a team leader and managing external consultants
  • Excellent knowledge of space planning, materials and finishes
  • Knowledge of the logistics and practical side of restaurants
  • Excellent client facing skills and a confident manner when dealing with third parties on site

Salary & Package

Happy to pay a salary above the industry average, the company offers an open-ended salary which will depend on the candidate’s experience. A range of £75,000 – £85,000 can be used as a reference however, please note this if fully negotiable so, get in touch even if you are currently earning more and we can discuss in more detail.
