A full time position for a handyperson within one of the South East’s leading housing providers.
Roles and responsibilities
-To receive work orders and complete within a time scale.
-To carry out minor plumbing and carpentry repairs e.g. putting up shelves, putting together flat pack furniture, put up curtain tracks and rails and changing taps.
-All work to be of a good quality to keep the properties owned by Paragon in good order and the tenants in sound buildings.
-Liaise with tenants and staff in relation to the completion of tasks.
-Keep appropriate records and maintain supplies of standard materials.
-Reviewing the scope of work required when on site and advising colleagues if work is unsuitable to be undertaken by this post
-Managing own workload to ensure completion of jobs in conjunction with tenants and colleagues.
-Maintain a set of tools necessary for the above tasks in good order and standard items such as screws, locks, curtain fixtures and carry these where appropriate in the van. Store tools securely and safely.
Skills and Experience
Candidates wishing to apply for this role will hold a full UK driving licence and have the ability to work alone.
The successful candidate would ideally be qualified NVQ level 3 / City & Guilds in trades or the ability to demonstrate suitable experience to meet the requirement of this role. Experience of multi-skilled trade activities including plumbing, tiling and carpentry is essential for this role.
Salary will be up to £21,000 depending on experience
