Forestry Manager Job in Lewes, East Sussex
I have a Forestry Manager job with a leading real estate consultancy who are now looking for a Forestry Manager to join their rural land management team in Lewes.
As the Forestry Manager, you’ll be joining the rural land management team managing multiple clients across the region. This company are looking for experienced candidates in the South East with a strong understanding of forestry regulatory and grant systems, and previous experience in a client facing role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Secure new business with new and existing clients
- Provide clients with professional advise
- Secure forestry grants for clients
- Manager the operations on behalf of the landowners
- Secure tree felling approval with felling licences or forest plans
- Produce budgets when required
- Control of costs for forest operations
- Ensure compliance with forestry, environmental and wildlife protection legislation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Able to use GIS mapping systems
- Understanding of forestry regulatory and grant systems
- Good knowledge of UKFS Standard
- Good understanding of pest and diseases effecting woodland
- Understanding of Natural Capital
- Good knowledge of timber and woodland products
- Member of the institute of chartered foresters or working towards
- Full driving licence.
