Expert Witness

Our client is an established multi sector architectural private practice based in Sussex with a portfolio of projects including residential, hospitality, commercial, transport, healthcare and Masterplanning. A fantastic new opportunity now exists for a talented Architect to join the practice on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for an Architect who wants to make a difference to the lives of people with disabilities.

The role of an Expert Witness is to prepare reports assessing the housing needs of people who are disabled, as a result of personal injury or clinical negligence and involved in litigation.

Part of the job will entail visiting claimants at their homes, making an assessment of their disability needs and future design requirements. Your healthcare and architectural experience will be drawn upon to support your reports and potentially you as well in court.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel within the UK, and occasionally internationally.

The role will suit an experienced architect who is interested in in applying their knowledge in a different career direction whilst still building their skills as an Architect.
Successful candidates will be:

• A RIBA Registered Architect
• Hold a full UK Driving license.
• Have some experience designing for either the disability or healthcare sector, preferably with experience of housing for disabled individuals. However, full training will be provided.

Once you join the practice, you will be given a 6-12 months training period , dependent you’re your existing skills and attributes, starting with shadowing other experts, preparing research and producing shadow reports before “going solo”.
