Development Manager - Bristol

Our client is one of the UK’s largest residential development, regeneration and property management businesses. Working as part of a new strategic partnership with Homes England an opportunity now exists for a Development Manager to join our client’s Bristol based Development Team focusing on the identifying and securing residential development opportunities, with an emphasis on affordable and grant-funded affordable projects.

Role & Responsibilities

Supporting the Group’s ambitious growth targets, your prime responsibility will be to identify, appraise and secure affordable and mixed-tenure residential development opportunities and secure the internal and external approvals needed to take the schemes forward and attract funding. You will build on and develop relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including local authorities, Homes England, developers, agents and landowners.

Alongside this, you will work with colleagues in the Development Team to project manage developments through to completion, against standards, timescales and budgets. You will proactively contribute to and influence the design and specification of projects to meet the requirements of all interested stakeholders.

Skills & Experience Required

To be considered for this role you should have extensive experience of securing and delivering affordable housing and mixed tenure development projects and of programme management. You should already have the relationships needed to assist with building our programme in the South and deliver on our partnership with Homes England through increasing the number of affordable homes in the South.

You should have strong project and programme management skills, commercial judgement and negotiating ability. Ideally you will understand and have experience of operating within the commercial and financial requirements associated with all tenures including outright sale and market-rent as well as affordable rent, social rent and shared-ownership.
This role will cover developments throughout the South of England, and can based from our offices in Byfleet or Bristol. You will need to be geographically mobile.

Salary & Benefits

Basic £60,000 – £69,000
Bonus of up to 20% of salary
Car Allowance £6400
