Cost Controller job Reading is available with an international multidisciplinary construction consultancy on a five-month fixed term contract. This Quantity Surveying role is based in Reading, Berkshire, with hybrid working or site-based working in Weybridge available.

The position supports the close out of accounts leading up to the end of the financial year for a key project. The successful candidate will prepare financial reports, analyse data sets and respond to finance team requests.

This opportunity is with a leading international multidisciplinary construction consultancy. The business is employee-owned in the UK and provides cost management, project and programme management, specialist consultancy and digital services.

Its teams deliver cost-effective and sustainable projects for an international client base. The consultancy requires support for a key project during financial year end close out. The role can be based from Reading, from site in Weybridge three days per week, or office-based five days per week.

Role & Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports, gap analysis and overlap analysis across project financial information
• Propose and agree solutions to achieve alignment between different financial data sets
• Analyse client reports and company reports while providing clear evidenced conclusions
• Review and respond to ad hoc financial information requests from company finance teams
• Respond to client finance team requests with accurate information and supporting documentation
• Ensure costs are correctly allocated against projects for capitalisation purposes and financial reporting

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience working as a Cost Controller or Financial Controller within professional environments
• Construction sector experience is preferred for this fixed term cost control position
• Good understanding of accounting processes supporting accurate reporting and financial information management
• Experienced liaising between multiple parties across client, company and project finance teams
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office for reporting and analysis work
• Available for the next five months to support project account close out requirements

Salary & Benefits

• Salary offered between £40,000 – £45,000 for this five-month fixed term contract
• 28 days holiday plus Bank Holidays provided as part of the employment package
• Hybrid working arrangement available across office, site and home-based working requirements
• Option to work from the Reading office or Weybridge site three days per week
• Office working five days per week can also be offered
