Cost Controller Job in Reading, Berkshire

Fixed Term Contract Cost Controller job in Reading, Berkshire, for an international and leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy, supporting the close out of accounts leading up to the end of the financial year for a key project. Salary £40,000 – £45,000 (5-month fixed term contract).

They are a leading global cost consultant partner and completely employee-owned in the UK, offering cost management, project and programme management, specialist consultancy and digital services. Delivering cost-effective and sustainable projects for their international client base. To be considered you must come from a cost control or financial control background, ideally within the construction and be available for the next 5 months, the role can be based out of their office in Reading or on site in Weybridge 3 days per week and 2 days home working, although office working 5 days a week can also be offered.

Role & Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports, gap and overlap analyses including proposing and agree solutions to achieve alignment between data sets
• Analyse client and company reports including provision of evidenced conclusions
• Review and respond to ad hoc requests from the company and client’s finance teams for financial information
• Ensure costs are correctly allocated against projects for capitalisation purposes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Cost Controller or Financial Controller
• Construction sector experience is preferred
• Good understanding of the accounting process
• Experienced in liaising between multiple parties
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Microsoft Office.
