Contracts Manager - Portsmouth

An opportunity for a Contracts Manager with previous experience in roofing and cladding to join a highly successful and rapidly expanding business based in Portsmouth

Founded in 2009 our client is a cladding and roofing business operating on sites throughout Southern England and London. The business has grown by 300% in the last 3 years alone, with an annual turnover of £6million. With line management responsibility for Site Managers across multiple sites and reporting to the Director, an opportunity now exists for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our clients expanding team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Delivering technical excellence
• Negotiating prices from suppliers as well as sub-contractors
• Organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour
• Approve sub-contract labour invoices
• Liaise with Company employed subcontractors and ensure work meets our requirements
• To organise plant to meet programme and cost plan
• Ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Company requirements
• Ensure that materials are ordered, and deliveries meet programme requirements
• Prepare risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc
• Programme works to suit agreed programme
• Liaise with the CAD technician and understand and interpret site requirements
• Delivery of each contract ensuring customer timelines are strictly adhered too
• Work with all relevant departments on new applications to ensure smooth planning and implementation of projects
• Prepare handover documents for the installation teams
• Keep all records and database up to date
• Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specification.
• Attend site meetings as required
• Handover works at end of project to client.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years experience in production management, ideally from a cladding / roofing background.
• Be able to demonstrate existing relationships with a network of clients and key suppliers
• Excellent IT and Communication skills
• Previous experience in a management/leadership role
• Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 4
• CSCS Black Card
• An ability to interpret and work from drawings
• A proven ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously
