Job Summary
Conservation Architect job Chiswick is available with an esteemed heritage and conservation practice based in Chiswick, London. This Architecture role focuses on conservation and historic building projects across residential properties, marketplaces, public monuments and places of worship.
The successful candidate will support the London team with detailed drawings, written documentation, client meetings and specialist planning advice. The position includes mentoring junior staff, supporting practice operations and sharing conservation expertise across project teams.

About the Company
This opportunity is with an established heritage and conservation practice founded in the 1940s. The practice has developed an extensive portfolio across residential properties, marketplaces, public monuments and places of worship. Successful growth has led to three offices and a strong team of conservation specialists.
The London office is now seeking a Senior Conservation Architect to support continued project delivery. The practice offers a collaborative environment focused on heritage quality, technical expertise and specialist conservation knowledge.
Role & Responsibilities
- Mentor junior staff and assist with day-to-day operations within the conservation practice environment
- Lead creation and development of detailed drawings and written documentation for conservation projects
- Attend client meetings across the UK to support project coordination and client communication
- Share expertise in historical architecture and conservation with colleagues across the wider team
- Provide specialist advice on pre-application submissions, planning applications and heritage project requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors and specialists throughout conservation and restoration project delivery
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum five years post-qualification experience in UK conservation and historic building projects
- Strong eye for historic design and thorough understanding of contractual procedures and requirements
- Experience in historical report writing with strong technical knowledge across conservation project delivery
- Proven experience in restoration work on listed buildings across UK heritage environments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop for technical drawings and presentation related project work
- Comprehensive knowledge of planning processes and relevant environmental, heritage legislation and guidance
- CA or SCA RIBA, AABC or equivalent accreditation would be considered desirable
- Full or Associate Member of the IHBC would be considered desirable for this position
Salary & Benefits
- Salary offered between £50,000 – £55,000 depending on previous experience and conservation background
- Annual bonus provided as part of the wider employment and reward package
- 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional day per year of service
- Study leave allowance provided to support continued professional development and specialist knowledge
- Book allowance for reference materials supporting heritage research and conservation project delivery
- Hybrid flexible working arrangements available for the successful candidate
