Role & Responsibilities
- Lead conservation and residential architecture projects across all RIBA stages, ensuring design quality and technical compliance throughout delivery
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings, construction packages and conservation documentation to support planning and on-site implementation
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain consistency in design standards across heritage and residential schemes
- Engage with planning authorities, conservation officers and consultants to secure approvals and manage statutory processes
- Oversee project coordination, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality expectations are met at each stage
- Mentor junior team members, supporting their technical development and contribution to live projects
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure works align with approved drawings and conservation requirements
- Contribute to design discussions, offering solutions that balance modern use with historical preservation
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified Architect with a conservation background and a minimum of 5 years post Part III experience
- Proven experience working on listed buildings and heritage projects within the UK architecture sector
- Strong technical ability in producing detailed drawings and construction information for complex projects
- Experience using Vectorworks or willingness to learn new software with structured training support
- Confident managing projects independently while maintaining strong client relationships and communication
- Minimum 2 years professional experience working within the UK architectural and planning environment
- Strong hand sketching ability to communicate design ideas clearly and effectively during project development
- Demonstrated passion for conservation, heritage architecture and historically sensitive design solutions
Salary & Benefits
- Salary between £45,000 and £55,000 depending on experience and technical capability
