Job Summary

Architect Job Bermondsey offers a unique opportunity to work on heritage-led Architecture projects across London and beyond. This role focuses on conservation, adaptive reuse and sensitive new build schemes within historic and listed environments. Based in Bermondsey, you will contribute across RIBA Stages 3-5, supporting the delivery of culturally significant projects while maintaining design integrity and compliance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver conservation-led architectural design across RIBA Stages 3-5 ensuring alignment with heritage requirements and project objectives
  • Collaborate with consultants heritage specialists and clients to develop coordinated and sensitive design solutions
  • Manage project teams including mentoring junior staff to support quality output and professional development
  • Oversee technical design detailing and specification to ensure compliance with conservation standards and regulations
  • Undertake contract administration duties and support on-site coordination to maintain quality and programme control
  • Prepare and contribute to project bids proposals and client presentations supporting business development activities
  • Coordinate information flow across multidisciplinary teams ensuring accurate documentation and communication throughout projects
  • Maintain design intent while addressing technical challenges within historic and listed building environments

Skills & Experience Required

  • Qualified Architect with ARB registration and at least two years post Part 3 experience within UK Architecture practice
  • Experience working on conservation or heritage projects particularly across RIBA Stages 3-5 with exposure to earlier and later stages beneficial
  • Strong understanding of UK planning systems building regulations and conservation principles within historic contexts
  • Ability to produce clear technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit with NBS knowledge desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence in preparing reports presentations and client-facing documentation
  • Well organised with the ability to manage workload effectively across design and construction programmes
  • Interest in or working towards conservation accreditation such as RIBA CA SCA or AABC
  • Proactive and collaborative approach with enthusiasm for heritage Architecture and multidisciplinary teamwork

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary between £36,000 and £48,000 depending on experience within conservation Architecture projects
