Role & Responsibilities

• Undertake regular construction inspections ensuring compliance with specifications, approved drawings, and UK building regulations
• Monitor contractor workmanship, construction techniques, and material quality throughout various project delivery stages
• Identify defects, non-compliance issues, and construction deviations requiring corrective actions from delivery teams
• Produce detailed inspection reports documenting findings, compliance observations, and quality assurance recommendations accurately
• Provide technical advice and guidance to contractors, consultants, and wider project stakeholders throughout delivery
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintaining quality standards across nationwide construction projects
• Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors during inspections, meetings, and project coordination activities
• Assist senior leadership with quality assurance processes and ongoing construction compliance monitoring responsibilities

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience working as a Clerk of Works within construction quality assurance environments
• MRICS or MICWCI qualification essential for this position within the inspection and compliance team
• Strong understanding of UK construction methods, building regulations, and health and safety legislation requirements
• Experience reviewing contractor workmanship and identifying construction quality concerns during active project delivery
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, engineering information, and technical construction documentation accurately
• Experience within façade and façade remediation projects would provide additional technical project value
• Confident communication skills supporting effective coordination with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project stakeholders
• Strong organisational abilities managing inspection schedules, reporting requirements, and construction compliance documentation efficiently
