Job Summary

Chartered Building Surveyor Job in London. This is an opportunity to join a well-established consultancy delivering commercial Building Surveying services across the UK. The role offers a broad workload spanning dilapidations, Technical Due Diligence, contract administration and project delivery within the Surveying & Project Management sector.

Based in London, you will take ownership of instructions from inception to completion, acting as Project Manager and Employer’s Agent where required. The position combines professional services with project-led work, supporting a strong regional client base across the commercial property market.

This national multi-disciplinary consultancy provides Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy, Project Management and Professional Services to commercial clients across the UK. Operating from multiple offices, including London, the practice has developed a reputation for technical excellence, reliable delivery and long-term client relationships.

The London office forms part of the wider Surveying & Project Management team, working closely with in-house Cost Consultancy, M&E and Fire Engineering specialists to deliver integrated commercial solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a broad range of commercial Building Surveying services
• Manage dilapidations matters for landlords and tenants including assessment, preparation and negotiation of claims
• Undertake Technical Due Diligence for acquisitions, disposals and refinancing
• Deliver refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception to completion
• Act as Project Manager and Employer’s Agent across commercial schemes
• Prepare defect analysis reports, schedules of condition, PPM reports and reinstatement cost assessments
• Administer building contracts under JCT and NEC forms
• Ensure technical accuracy and compliance across all project deliverables
• Manage client relationships to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Mentor Graduate Building Surveyors and provide APC support
• Support business development and contribute to team growth

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline
• MRICS qualified
• Minimum one year post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment
• Proven experience delivering commercial Building Surveying services including dilapidations, Technical Due Diligence and contract administration
• Experience acting as Project Manager or Employer’s Agent
• Strong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
• Excellent technical, contractual and regulatory knowledge
• Commercial awareness and confident client-facing ability
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Full UK driving licence
