Bookkeeper job in West London

A part-time in-house Bookkeeper job is now available, in West London. This position will initially be for 2-3 days per week and will report to the Director and external accountants. More senior candidates able to work on a Financial Controller capacity will also be considered. Experience working in the interior design industry is essential.

This busy and sought after Interior Design studio is well known for its unique and colourful spaces. They are currently recruiting for a part-time in-house Bookkeeper to work as part of a small finance team and be responsible for the general bookkeeping for the business including accounts payable, and receivable, general Invoicing, and matching POs. The successful candidate will also be involved in clearing queries both internally and with an external accountancy practice for more technical issues.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software
  • Verifying that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
  • Managing and ensuing all control accounts reconciled as required in Xero accounting software
  • Assisting with supplier payments / Paying vendor invoices
  • Processing accounts receivable/payable
  • Reconciling business bank accounts
  • Understanding and supporting PO process resolving queries and PO differences.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience of working within the interior design industry
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy
  • Experience of purchase ledger processes and payments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of Xero essential and knowledge of Datamolino is desirable
  • Ideally AAT qualified, studying ACA/ACCA/ CIMA or qualified by experience.
