Role & Responsibilities

• Lead urban design projects from feasibility through to planning submission stages, ensuring design quality and delivery
• Prepare and oversee masterplans, design codes and development briefs aligned with client and site objectives
• Undertake site appraisals and feasibility studies to inform strategic and people-centred design responses
• Manage client relationships and contribute to business development and portfolio growth initiatives
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs including planning, transport and landscape to deliver integrated design solutions
• Present proposals through drawings, reports and stakeholder engagement to communicate design intent clearly
• Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing
• Ensure design outputs meet planning policy, regulatory requirements and sustainability objectives

Skills & Experience Required

• Postgraduate qualification in Urban Design or related discipline including Architecture, Planning or Landscape
• Proven UK consultancy experience working on residential, mixed-use or regeneration projects
• Strong understanding of urban design principles and placemaking strategies within the UK context
• Creative design ability with attention to detail from strategic concepts to detailed design resolution
• Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement
• Professional accreditation such as RTPI or recognised urban design qualification or working towards it
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and SketchUp with Vectorworks or QGIS beneficial
• Strong leadership and coordination skills with experience managing teams and multidisciplinary inputs
