Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of planning projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments ensuring successful delivery outcomes
  • Prepare, submit and oversee planning applications, appeals and development appraisals with strong attention to detail and compliance
  • Provide clear and professional planning advice to clients, stakeholders and local authorities throughout project lifecycles
  • Lead client communication maintaining strong relationships and ensuring expectations are managed effectively across all stages
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to support project delivery and share knowledge across planning disciplines
  • Contribute to business development activities including preparation of bids, proposals and responses to new client enquiries
  • Support and mentor junior team members assisting with technical development and progression within the planning team

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum four years post-qualification experience with MRTPI status and strong professional planning background
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK planning policy, development management processes and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing high-quality planning reports and submissions
  • Confident engaging with clients, consultees and the public in both formal and informal planning discussions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess planning constraints and opportunities effectively
  • Organised approach to workload management with ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines consistently
  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings as required
