Job Summary

Architectural Technologist Job Southwark is an Architecture role working mainly across residential projects from later design stages onwards. You will join a London studio where the focus is on producing clear, practical information that supports successful construction. The role gives you plenty of involvement in drawing production, technical detailing, coordination, and day-to-day project problem solving. You will work closely with wider design teams to make sure information stays accurate, coordinated, and suitable for delivery.

Revit is an important part of the position, alongside AutoCAD and a solid understanding of current technical standards. You will also communicate with consultants, clients, and contractors as projects move through detailed design and construction. Architectural Technologist Job Southwark would suit someone who enjoys technical work and wants responsibility without moving away from hands-on project delivery.

About the Company

The practice is an established architectural and town planning business working from several UK studios. Its teams deliver projects across residential, education, commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and mixed use sectors. The London studio provides a collaborative environment where technical knowledge and professional development are actively supported.

Staff have access to mentoring, CPD, technical reviews, site visits, and assistance towards professional accreditation. The wider culture also places importance on wellbeing, family support, social connection, and creating an inclusive workplace. Reasonable adjustments can also be considered during the recruitment process where required.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with consultants and project teams to keep architectural information coordinated throughout detailed project stages
  • Develop plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and construction details for medium and large scale building projects
  • Review project information carefully and resolve technical issues before they affect later design or construction activity
  • Support residential schemes through RIBA Stages 4, 5, and 6 with accurate technical documentation
  • Apply current Building Regulations and relevant warranty guidance when preparing project drawings and technical information
  • Communicate clearly with clients, contractors, consultants, and colleagues while managing your own technical workload
  • Take responsibility for drawing packages while contributing practical solutions to wider project coordination and buildability discussions

Skills & Experience Required

  • Current working knowledge of Autodesk Revit with confident AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills for project delivery
  • Strong technical experience gained across medium or large scale projects with detailed coordination requirements
  • Good understanding of current Building Regulations, housing standards, and NHBC or LABC warranty guidance
  • Experience preparing complete working drawing packages with coordinated plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and details
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary consultants while maintaining organised and accurate architectural information
  • Previous involvement with later RIBA stages, particularly across residential, mixed use, or commercial project environments
  • Sound technical detailing knowledge with a practical understanding of contemporary construction methods and building delivery

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £45,000 salary
  • Flexible or adaptable working arrangements can be discussed
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay plus confidential Employee Assistance Programme support
  • Mentor support, paid study leave, and financial contributions towards professional accreditation
  • Regular CPD, technical reviews, and site visits supporting continued professional growth
  • Extra birthday leave, eye care support, free fruit, social events, and study trips

Who Is This Role Ideal For?

This position would suit an Architectural Technologist who likes being involved in the practical side of project delivery. You should enjoy developing technical information, coordinating drawings, and working through construction details with the wider team. It is particularly relevant for someone with residential experience who wants exposure to larger and more complex schemes.

You will need to be organised, comfortable communicating with different disciplines, and able to manage your own workload confidently. The role also suits someone looking for professional development, mentoring, wellbeing support, and a sociable studio environment.
