A reputable, specialist architectural practice based in Soho; demonstrating an original and modern design style and a collaborative history with some of London’s most prestigious firms.

The company was founded in the early 90’s by 3 Directors, driven by the ambition to ensure their buildings are enjoyed and add long-term value to their clients. They have an impressive portfolio across a broad range of project sectors including leisure, workplace and residential; but their core specialism lies in the retail sector, specifically shopping centres.

They are currently a team of 9 Architects, Technologists and Specification Writers; and are looking to take on 3 further staff members in the immediate future.

Role & Responsibilities

The company has a dedicated Specification Writing Team, which the successful candidate will join on an initial rolling contract basis. The team produce technical and specification writing both for the company’s own projects, and for architectural practices who outsource this type of work.

They currently have the opportunity to work on a major extension to an existing London shopping centre. The role would require the successful individual to work in an internal team, but taking the brief from 2 major reputable London architecture firms.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Architectural Technician or Specification Writer
  • Demonstrable specification writing experience
  • A high level of proficiency in NBS Building is essential
  • A background in retail and/or shopping centre schemes would be favourable

Salary & Package

The successful candidate will be offered an hourly rate of £22 – £25 per hour on a rolling contract basis.

Should the role develop in to full time employment, candidates would be entitled to a workplace pension scheme and health insurance. After 1 years’ employment, you will be enrolled in the company’s bonus scheme.

All staff are entitled to 21 days annual leave in addition to bank holiday and 3 days over the Christmas period when the company shuts down.
