Architectural Technician - Barnstaple, Devon

Our client is a small practice with an exciting and growing workload of schools, community buildings, charity projects, social housing and health projects. The practice also has landscape architect and building surveyor partners with a portfolio of other work including parks, playgrounds, disabled adaptations and residential projects. Although most of their work is within Devon, they also run projects throughout Somerset, Bristol and have an office in Birmingham.

The practice is based in Barnstaple (close to good surfing beaches and Exmoor) in the ground floor of a former Victorian school. The practice was established in 1997 and since then has been bringing a community based approach to building, landscape and area regeneration. Projects range in value between £100k-£5million and currently include a Children’s Hospice in Cornwall with a value of £5m, which is at pre-planning stages, a Christian holiday and conference centre worth £5m and various healthcare schemes of North Devon council.

Due to this continued growth and expansion our client is now looking to strengthen their team based in Devon by recruiting a talented and motivated Architectural Technician. The successful candidate will be HND qualified or equivalent with previous experience in UK private practice.

Candidates wishing to apply for this position must have good technical knowledge, be able to carry our surveys and produce high quality working drawings.

CAD literate is essential. Vectorworks experience would be advantageous but not essential as full cross training will be given.
