Architect Job Winchester is available with an established architectural practice delivering classical design projects in the UK and internationally. This Architecture role is based in Winchester, Hampshire, with hybrid working and direct involvement across bespoke residential, historical, commercial and interior projects.

The successful Architect will produce technical drawings, detailed hand drawings and design information across RIBA stages 2-6. You will work as part of a classical architecture team while speaking directly with clients and supporting project delivery.

The practice has more than one hundred employees across two offices and a well-established network of UK and international clients. Due to continued success, the business is seeking an Architect to join its classical architecture team. The practice supports professional development, offers hybrid working and provides an environment where Architects can progress through direct client contact and project responsibility.

Role & Responsibilities

• Producing high-quality technical drawings and design information across distinguished classical architecture projects
• Working across RIBA stages 2-6 on residential, historical, commercial and interior schemes
• Creating detailed hand drawings to support design development and technical project delivery
• Working collaboratively as part of the design team across varied classical design projects
• Speaking directly with clients and supporting clear communication throughout project development stages
• Developing experience running project stages with guidance from senior architectural team members
• Working on unique and varied classical design projects across the UK and internationally
• Visiting project sites to review progress, support delivery and understand construction details

Skills & Experience Required

• ARB Registered Architect with a minimum of one year’s professional experience within the UK
• Strong technical detailing ability across residential projects and carefully considered architectural design work
• Essential experience working on UK residential projects through design and technical development stages
• Interest in classical design is essential, with motivation to develop within this specialist area
• Bespoke residential and classical design project experience would be highly advantageous for this role
• Experience using ArchiCAD would be beneficial, although full software training will be provided
• Confident producing detailed hand drawings and technical information for high-quality architectural projects
• Able to communicate professionally with clients, consultants and internal design team members

Salary & Benefits

• Salary ranging from £32,000 – £40,000 DOE depending on experience and suitability
• Twenty one days holiday plus bank holidays and discretionary leave over the Christmas period

• No staff are expected to work overtime, although offered overtime is paid at an increased rate
