Architect / Senior Architect (Super Prime Residential) - Chelsea, London

A team of luxury residential specialists working on developments and private properties in London an overseas. This is the perfect opportunity for a creative individual, who enjoys highly detailed projects and hand sketching as much as relaxing over a glass of wine with their colleagues.

This is a multidisciplinary Architectural and Interior Design studio delivering some of the most exquisite residential projects in London and worldwide. Their team of 9, are experts in producing innovative, bespoke solutions for the most exclusive clientele. Current projects include a 23,000 sq ft private house in Wentworth and a variety of private residences in Belgravia, Mayfair and Chelsea. With a steady pipeline of work for both, new and repeat clients, they are now looking for an experienced Architect who is passionate about high quality spaces, materials and finishes to join their team.

Roles and Responsibilities

You will run and oversee all architectural and technical aspects of projects, as well as lead, manage and mentor more junior members of the team. You will have full project ownership to draw, manage and deliver architectural and joinery packages, from tender through site execution and to project delivery and handover.
You will support the project manager and senior management team to successfully manage clients, consultant teams and suppliers/sub-contractors.

Main tasks include but are not limited to:

• Lead and manage architectural project information
• Contract administration to UK processes
• Managing the quality of the projects and ensuring that everything meets client’s expectations
• Leading and organising schedules, digital folders and physical material samples
• NBS specification writing
• Developing and assessing consultants design solutions and their integration into the proposal
• Coordinating with external professional consultants
• Building a strong relationships with clients

Skills and experience

• A minimum of 3 years UK working experience
• Part-III qualified with a minimum of two years’ experience within a luxury design studio
• Experience managing and delivering projects in Mayfair, Belgravia, Knightsbridge or Chelsea
• Experience in all phases of design and knowledge of RIBA work stages
• Proven experience in running and mentoring a team of architectural and technical designers
• Experience in team resourcing, delegation and deadline management
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite. Preferably also InDesign, and Photoshop
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to pitch in wherever required
• Fantastic attention to detail and commitment to quality and innovation within luxury design
• Confident to take on high levels of responsibility
• Excellent eye for materials and palettes
• Good time management and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of Architectural detailing and understanding of industry drawing standards
• Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning processes
• Awareness of project/site progress and health & safety/CDM regulations
• Proven track record producing excellent design presentations and delivering high quality joinery

Salary & Package

£35,000 – £45,000 DOE + Performance related bonus
