Job Summary
Architect Job Central London is available on a fixed-term or freelance basis with an in-house design team. This role is based in Central London within the architecture sector, working on a Grade II Listed heritage conversion into a luxury guesthouse.
The successful Architect will support technical documentation, detailed drawings, specifications, and work packages across stage 4 and part of stage 5. You will coordinate with consultants, suppliers, contractors, and a skilled design team focused on sensitive conservation delivery.
This Architect Job Central London offers flexible working, full-time hours, and involvement in a prestigious heritage project. The contract is offered for three to nine months, with potential for extension depending on project requirements.
About the Company
The in-house team is managing the transformation of an exceptional listed residence in Buckinghamshire into a luxury guesthouse. The project focuses on preserving scale, historic character, traditional materials, and craftsmanship through careful conservation-led design.
The London studio provides a collaborative setting for technical coordination, design development, and project delivery. The role involves working alongside Design Directors, a Senior Architect, Project Architect, Interior Designer, and Architectural Assistant. This opportunity offers a focused contract for an Architect with strong technical and conservation project experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation across stage 4 and part stage 5
- Manage work packages independently while coordinating with suppliers, consultants, contractors, and internal design colleagues
- Conduct site visits when required to review quality, progress, conservation standards, and project coordination
- Support conservation goals by ensuring technical information protects historic character and traditional project details
- Work closely with Design Directors, Senior Architect, Project Architect, Interior Designer, and Architectural Assistant
- Coordinate project information to support timely delivery within the fixed-term contract period
- Contribute technical expertise across high-end hospitality, heritage, and listed building refurbishment work
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum three years practical architectural experience with solid site experience on UK projects
- Proficient AutoCAD user with strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations requirements
- Strong technical skills producing detailed drawings and specifications for conservation-focused architectural projects
- Experience working on high-end residential or hospitality projects within professional design environments
- Listed building or conservation project experience would be ideal for this fixed-term role
- Ability to coordinate consultants, suppliers, contractors, and internal team members effectively
- Confident working independently on technical packages while supporting collaborative project delivery
Salary & Benefits
- Salary offered between £40,000 – £55,000 pro rata depending on experience and suitability
- Freelance or fixed-term contract offered for three to nine months initially
- Potential contract extension available depending on project requirements and ongoing workload
- Typical working hours are 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday
- Flexible working arrangement with two to three London studio days each week
- Remote working available on other days as part of the flexible structure
