Job Summary

Architect Job Birmingham is an opportunity to provide architectural design and project delivery within an established architectural practice. The role is based in Birmingham and sits within the Architecture sector. You will work across a variety of architectural projects at different work stages. Responsibilities include researching design solutions, preparing surveys, developing designs and producing coordinated technical information. You will create presentation materials and detailed information using CAD, BIM and hand drawing techniques.

The role includes planning, building control, tender and construction information across relevant project stages. You will coordinate engineering disciplines, manufacturers, technical standards and statutory requirements throughout project delivery. Architect Job Birmingham also includes contract administration, site inspections, reporting and attendance at project meetings. You will maintain compliance with Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act 2022 and CDM Regulations 2015.

Role & Responsibilities

• Research and develop appropriate architectural solutions while responding to project briefs, technical requirements and client needs
• Prepare measured surveys, site reports, presentation materials and coordinated design information using CAD and BIM
• Develop concept, detailed and technical designs while coordinating engineering disciplines, manufacturers and statutory information requirements
• Prepare drawings and supporting information for planning, building control, tender and construction stage purposes
• Track compliance with Building Regulations, Building Safety Act requirements and relevant Gateway requirements for higher-risk buildings
• Attend client, design team and site meetings
• Undertake contract administration duties, site inspections
• Maintain project quality assurance records

Skills & Experience Required

• Part 3 qualified and ARB registered
• Demonstrate strong experience managing all RIBA stages
• Prior experience on education and DfE projects
• Show ability to produce coherent architectural designs supported by appropriate building technologies and construction techniques
• Understand technical standards, regulatory frameworks, health and safety requirements and professional architectural responsibilities
• Have working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
• Understand CDM Regulations
• Manage individual workload effectively
• Work effectively within project teams while using initiative and reviewing personal working practices when required

Who Is This Role Ideal For?

This role is ideal for a qualified Architect with RIBA Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 completion. You should be comfortable contributing across design development, technical delivery and construction stage responsibilities. The position suits someone able to manage their workload while working collaboratively within an architectural team.

Strong CAD and BIM skills are relevant, particularly experience using AutoCAD and Revit. You should understand current regulatory responsibilities, including Building Regulations, CDM Regulations 2015 and the Building Safety Act 2022.
