What do our clients & partners say?

  • I worked with Hunter Dunning during my time at Places for People from 2017 to my leaving the organisation in 2022. They provided recruitment services covering white collar property and built environment professionals across the different businesses within the PFP Group, primarily our developments business. Whilst with Places for People, Hunter Dunning have shown an in-depth understanding of the sectors in which they recruit and the ability to provide consultative advice on recruitment within the built environment, such as salary/remuneration benchmarking in a rapidly changing market through the covid pandemic and the post jobs market bounce.

Places for People as a business has an in-house recruitment team, access to wide range of recruitment tools and will always look to fill roles internally before engaging with recruitment partners. We did not operate a PSL but used an approved supplier list, which Hunter Dunning was part, this allowed agility so we could use the agencies that provided the best service and delivery rather than being beholden to a set PSL. Over the time we operated this model Hunter Dunning become the go to built environment agency – their service marked them out as an agency to always use and often to use exclusively. Their delivery and ability to fill roles marked them out as a key part of our TA offering to the business, but what was more important was the genuine, honest feedback they provided even where, on rare occasions, they couldn’t supply talent.

Hunter Dunning has consistently proven the ability to fill roles in candidate/skill short sectors and is regularly engaged to assist with senior/strategic appointments. Hunter Dunning has become a trusted and well-regarded supplier to our business and one that I would recommend to other businesses operating within the built environment.

Neil Pollington (Head of Recruitment) - Place for People
  • Having been directly recruited by Joe I was really impressed by the level of detail he went into and amount of time he spent getting to know me to ensure it was the right fit. He was in constant contact throughout and always available to assist during the process.

This understanding of me, then us as a company, has led to using Joe and the team to recruit for several roles since and we are really pleased with the results.

It’s refreshing for a recruiter to actually listen to exactly what you require and take the time to find the right person.

Gareth Moody (Managing Director) - Tila Commercial
  • Having worked with several architectural recruiters, both as a candidate and supporting in-house recruitment drives, I have no hesitation in recommending Jennifer and Hunter Dunning.

It is too often the case that recruiters don’t listen to candidates and clients, leading to mismatched expectations and short-term employment. From my first conversation with Jennifer – herself recommended by a former colleague – I could tell this would not be the case.

Jennifer and the team listened intently, asking all the right questions about the long-term employment I was looking for. As a result, I’ve started the role I’d been looking for.

I found Jennifer and the team professional, easy to contact and honest. I would strongly recommend her and her colleagues to any practice or architectural professionals looking to recruit.

Thanks again Jennifer, and Hunter Dunning.

  • Having been made redundant I wasn’t sure where my next job would be and what effect this would have on my career. Joe was instrumental in getting my CV out to the right people, just when they were looking for my skills.

I received a number of offers and Joe worked hard to drill down into the detail of the offers, including benefits and training opportunities. He was able to make the decision easy for me, and I was left in a better career position than when I started.

    John Markwell - Landscape Architect
  • Joe Synes is definitely your big picture, detailed oriented, go-to guy for seeking new employment.  Through his energetic efforts I secured an interview, offer, and Senior Urban Designer position with one of Britain’s largest planning firms in their flagship headquarters.   Based on my experience, I highly recommend Joe as a design position specialist who not only beats the bushes, but the crowded field of recruitment competition also.

John Martin - Senior Urban Designer
  • Gaby was tremendously helpful and enthusiastic in helping me find a job that matched my aspirations and qualifications. She was great at communicating throughout the process, and has been absolutely lovely to work with. I am hugely grateful for her knowledge and understanding of the industry, matching my skills and experience with a company that is a perfect fit. Thank you!

    Eloïse James - Designer
  • Brooke & John were the consultants I worked with while working with Hunter Dunning. I would highly recommend them to anyone, who wants to use a highly-focused, well-organised professional recruitment service. They had a detailed understanding of my expectations, skills, knowledge and experience and were able to really focus on finding the perfect career move for me.
Within two weeks they had arranged four interviews which matched my requirements well. They worked tirelessly for me throughout the entire process keeping me informed at every stage. All the interviews were great experience. Brooke and John had fully prepared me for my interviews and matched me really well against the roles I was being interviewed for.
Following these interviews I have now accepted a role via Hunter Dunning and I cannot wait to start! Hunter Dunning are always up to date with the new positions on the market, and they are happy to mediate on your behalf at any stage of the process. I feel very lucky I had an opportunity to work with them.

    Kinga Berkesi - Architectural Technician
  • I have registered with quite a few agencies, but I have found that your help has been first class – more useful that the other consultants I have liaised with elsewhere ( other consultants have been impersonal).

I genuinely appreciate the advice you have given me, and the interview you arranged for me (in just two days!!), so I would just like to say thank you, and I hope that there will be some more opportunities arising in the near future from yourself and Hunter Dunning.

Jimi Deji-Tijan - Part II Architectural Assistant
